Electronics & Appliances

Electronics & Appliances by Rahinah Ibrahim, Mohamad Syahzarulnizam Ma’zin, Cheah Wing Shen & Muhammad Farhan Zainuddin

Electronics & Appliances are integral support for residents of Shah Alam. Three conceptual philosophical propositions are put forth under the topic of “Electronics & Appliances.” They are “Reciprocal Diffusion,” “Integrative Diversity,” and “Better Life Aspiration” which respectively serve the following brands: DJI, Bosch, and Dell. Reciprocal diffusion involves user experience and reciprocal economy while integrative diversity is based on user satisfaction and product diversity. The final proposition on better life aspiration is based on human computer interaction and environmental psychology. In Cheah Wing Shen’s representation of DJI, he proposes cascading terraces to accommodate breathable spaces for greeneries and having a central court for introducing drone technologies. In Mohamad Syahzarulnizam Ma’zin’s representation of Bosch, he proposes having convenience and social interactions with non-market interactions within diversified product spaces. In Muhammad Farhan Zainuddin’s representation of Dell, he also proposes volumetric breakdowns for enabling human computer interactions and aspires environment-friendly technology production. From the conceptual philosophies related to electronics and appliances, the trend is introducing green production process and using technology to create friendly human computer interactions.

Intergrative Diversity | BOSCH

Mohamad Shahzarulnizam Ma'zin

Bosch Mega Store Malaysia will integrating the diversity to fulfill the needs of life. The design aims to take into considerations the consumer satisfaction and product diversity. Consumer satisfaction defines as a measurement that determines how happy customer are with the products, services or capabilities. It has been considered a central concept in marketing literature (Srivastava and Kaul, 2014). Meanwhile, product diversity is the expansion of products into new market segment (Li, Qian, & Qian, 2011).

The consumer satisfaction is considered by proposing the brand symbolic characteristics as identity so that the consumers will be attached with the brand and enjoying being part of the brand community. Next, creating enough training centre for staffs will enhance consumer satisfaction when the staffs work with peak performance. Lastly, the building will create more convenience and social interaction spaces. Social interaction is a significant predictor of satisfaction via customer experience.

The product diversity is considered by providing spaces for non-market interaction. Murata, (2003) stated that all workers not only have identical preferences over the commodities provided by markets, but also have idiosyncratic tastes in residential locations that reflect non-market interactions. Also, the building should design spaces for the product diversity retail and services.

Reciprocal Diffusion | DJI

Cheah Wing Shen

The URBAN HUB serves as platform for reciprocal diffusion through user experience and environment consciousness. Environment consciousness is emphasized on the environmental impact for any actions taken in township development regardless of construction industry, agriculture industry nor domestic waste production. On the other hand, user experience forms the journey through senses that would influence thinking and emotions while went through the product and spaces. Raising the environmental awareness by letting the users experience through senses as a journey, to address the issues in lacking tree covers, urban pocket spaces which benefits in reciprocal relations.

Droneography serves as a catalyst to interlace the segregated urban framework and opportunities in a township development. As Rao et al. (2017) highlights contemporary retail has become less walkable and interactive, a droneography experience is designed to astonish and attract public perspective (Zegre-Hemset et al., 2020; Suppipat et al., 2020). Linkage and connections from major paths are emphasized to resolve the disconnected pedestrian walkway and segregated urban nodes where direct public into the urban hub. Visualisations through media screen, aerial video or photographs highlight the awareness of heritage and nature preservations to passer-by. Other than rejuvenating the local economy, urban plaza allows passive interactions and flexibility of events between different parties.
